ACTIVITIES OF THIS YEAR

Tree Plantation Drives are being taken out in our units to safeguard the environment from Green-house gas effects.

Environment implementation steps are discussed and suggested to the Health Department of Southern Railways which is in-line to get implemented.

Suggestions were made to the Health Department to place separate dustbins respectively for collecting bio-degradable and non-degradable garbage in the Railway Colony.

SRWWO/MDU joined hands with the rest of the country in whipping-off the tears of the affected people by Gaja Cyclone during November 2018. SRWWO contributed bedsheets and relief materials like new dresses, mats, rice, pulses, wheat flour, masala packets, biscuits, candles and potatoes were collected from the students, parents and other interested parties.

These materials were distributed in-person in the cyclone affected areas of Thirukuvalai, Thiruthuraipoondi, Athirampattinam and Ammapattinam of Thirvarur and Nagapattinam Districts of Tamil Nadu.

SRWWO members jointly with the Railway Department took part in the Swachh Bharat campaign to educate and motivate cleanliness to the public at the Railway Junction premises.

On educating and maintaining women hygienic standards, SRWWO had commissioned a Sanitary Napkin Incinerator at the Ladies Waiting Room of Madurai Railway Junction and also in the Girls wash rooms of SRWWO Matriculation School.

On the Republic Day- 26th January 2019, under the guidance of our DRM & President SRWWO/MDU, members of the organization lead by both our vice-presidents I & II went to Melamathoor village, near Thuvarimaan, Madurai District and met the women belonging to weaker sections.

SRWWO members educated them informally on the importance of self cleanliness and women health. We distributed sanitary pads for these women.
